Volunteer of the Year: Dave Marshall
Volunteer of the Year: Dave Marshall
by Rowan Beck,
January 12, 2012, page 4.....

Ed Stone, on behalf of the Selectboard, presented Dave Marshall with the Volunteer of the Year Award for his tireless efforts on the sidewalk, wastewater and other projects. The presentation was made at the annual holiday party for town volunteers on December 17 at the Senior Center.

Dave has been volunteering his time for several years. According to Ed, “Dave has gone out of his way on weekends to measure for sidewalks and where to put the septic. The work he did was exceptional. In the past, we (the Town) have spent a lot of money on studies, and the results have been no better than what he has done for free.”

Ed went on to say how amazing and fortunate the residents of Charlotte were to have so many qualified volunteers. “We have so many that can do so much.” Dave Marshall is a civil engineer by trade and works for Civil Engineering Associates in South Burlington. He has lived in Charlotte for approximately 10 years with his wife, Monica, and three children.
