Charlotters Lead a Collection for a Soldier Injured in Afghanistan
A Vermont army soldier, Andrew Parker, was injured when a roadside bomb exploded under his vehicle during his tour of duty in Afghanistan in November 2008. A local group of interested citizens is collecting money so that he can return to Vermont in a house that will accommodate his disabilities. His father, Mark Parker lives in Charlotte, and another relative Roger Parker worked on the Nichols hay farm here for a number of years. Those wishing to learn more about the project should speak with Carrie Spear at Spear’s Corner Store in East Charlotte.
