Charlotte Burglary Suspects Plead Not Guilty.
Two of the three people arrested for a string of burglaries in Charlotte in early August pled not guilty and were released on conditions, according to a report in the September 30 Burlington Free Press. Gillian Junger, 20, of Shelburne and Sean Leach, 23, of Burlington joined 19-year-old Kyle Evans, also of Burlington, as suspects in the Greenbush Road robberies.

CVU Seeks Funds to Repair Auditorium.
Built in 1964, the auditorium at Champlain Valley Union High School has not had major attention paid to its structure since. Voters rejected $10 million of a proposed $28-million renovation, removing the portion of funds for the auditorium. With the resulting $18-million project completed in 2005, a group of citizens in the district this year is trying to resurrect the auditorium monies. According to an October 2 article in the Burlington Free Press, the group wants to add a lighting grid and catwalk that is safer than the existing structures, remodel the sound booth, replacing equipment with that which is safer and will open up 22 additional seats for the audience, add air conditioning and improve ventilation to bring comfort to the auditorium in all seasons, and install a new curtain, stage floor and orchestra pit. Those interested in making donations should write their checks to CVU Auditorium and send them to 369 CVU Road, Hinesburg, Vermont 05461.

Vote Early if You Wish.
Vermont allows early voting in this year’s general election scheduled for November 4. To do so, simply call or stop by the Charlotte Town Clerk’s office to get a ballot. You may vote there or at home today if you want. There are at least two other places for information as well. One is the Secretary of State’s website, vermont-elections.org/elections1/election_info.html. Another is a voter hotline at 1-800-708-1927.
