The dock is in at the Town Beach!
July 23, 2011.....
Dock Doctors put in the dock and two rafts yesterday, just in time for a beautiful weekend at the Town Beach. The water has gone down 6 ½ feet since flood level last May, and there is plenty of beach to enjoy. The rafts have been repaired from the damage sustained in the big storm last fall.
Looking for something to do Monday evening? The Selectboard meeting on July 25 will be interesting: at 7:20 p.m. the board will set the tax rate for this year (FY11-12), at 7:30 pm the West Village Wastewater Study Committee will report their recommendations, and at 8:30 pm an ad-hoc group will give a presentation about sidewalks on Ferry Road in the West Village. As usual, the public is invited to comment on any item at 7:00 pm.
The Charlotte News is on a brief summer break, but we will continue to post news of interest on the website and Facebook. See our Mid-Summer Guide for much to do between now and the next issue, which comes out on August 11. Deadlines are Thursday, August 4, for photos, articles and ads, and Monday, August 8, for letters.
Happy summer!
