Thank You to All for Fantastic Variety Show
Thank You to All for Fantastic Variety Show
by Sue Thibault,
February 24, 2011, page 2.....

We had another fantastic Variety Show again this year. I want to thank ALL the performers who braved the spotlight; everyone was just amazing! This was our 5th year of having Josie Leavitt host and Ben Chartrand in charge of the lighting. The two of them make the evening feel so professional and absolutely magical for all of the performers. We had 100 children participate and, once again, a full house in attendance. Monica Marshall, Susie Therrien, Cathy Potdevin, Emma Berkowitz and Laurie Brooks were at the ticket tables, and the very able-bodied Stella Martenis passed out programs. Kristin Wright once again put the programs together, and there was a fantastic 7th grade bake sale that had pizza from LaVilla Bistro. Owner Jill Spell generously donated a gift certificate to thank Josie this year.
The night went on without a hitch thanks to the help of Deirdre Holmes lining up the acts, Henry and Deb Krammer handing out medals, and Dillon Whitney helping out during the second half.  The CCS custodial team did a great job setting up and cleaning up once again!
We couldn’t have had such a seamless show without the hard work and organization of Kelly Devine. She kept track of everyone’s music and was able to figure out all those music devices that kids have now-a-days!  Kerrie Pughe took professional-grade photographs of the event, and Susan Vignes did a great job getting up those awesome posters all around school. I have to mention that David McNally single-handedly organized the kindergarten act this year – not a simple task. He was successful in orchestrating “This Little Light of Mine,” which opened up the show with 17 excited 5- and 6-year-olds.
Of course, the entire staff at CCS was a great support for us – Allyson Ledoux quickly changing out pianos right before the show to be sure our 3rd grader’s song was in tune, Andy Smith letting us use all of his musical equipment, Robyn Davis letting us borrow her sound system for rehearsals, and Justin Bissonette being patient when we showed up in the MPR getting ready for the rehearsals. Co-principals Greg Marino and Audrey Boutaugh were super supportive during the entire process and even were able to make a much-needed dust mop magically appear behind the scenes at the start of the show.
Finally, I have to thank my family, Jack, Paige and Tom, for being so patient with me during this past month of preparations for the show.
Thank you to all of you who attended and supported our 5th Annual Variety Show!
