Stolen Items Recovered
Stolen Items Recovered by Rowan Beck,
December 15, 2011, page 5.....

There has been a happy ending to the recent break-in at the Adams’ household on Greenbush Road on November 17. Celeste Adams received a call from the Colchester Police reporting that some of their items had been recovered on November 28. Three people were arrested for the crime. The perpetrators remain unnamed, but two are originally from Franklin County, and police are unclear where the other man is from. They think possibly Tennessee; however, he had falsified much of his information when questioned. The couple was only in their twenties.
The items were found in a motel room in Colchester. Police were able to determine the Adams were one of the owners due to the luggage tag on a small suitcase located in the room.  Celeste had not realized that the burglars had taken the small travel tote from her bedroom, most likely to carry other items. Colchester Police need to coordinate with the State Police before all the items can be returned.
Recovered items were not just from the Charlotte break in. They were linked to four other burglaries in Huntington, Weybridge, Monkton and Underhill. Other items recovered included approximately 50-60 CDs, a Wii console, a TV and jewelry. There are still some unclaimed items, which burglary victims can view in Colchester. “They may find some items they didn’t even realize were stolen,” said Detective Fish of the Colchester Police Department. The criminals informed police that they were ”stealing in order to purchase cocaine.”  Detective Fish also reported,  “There has been a spike in burglaries, and many have been drug related.”  As a friendly reminder, lock your doors, and if you see something suspicious or unusual, call the police and don’t take matters into your own hands.
