Rob Pierce makes league honor roll.
St. Michaels College junior soccer player Rob Pierce via Charlotte, CVU and Westminster School, was named to the Northeast-10 honor roll for scoring two goals that kept the Purple Knights in contention for a play-off spot at that point in the season. Pierce’s goal tied the game against Merrimack at 2. St. Mikes eventually lost 4-2, but his second goal of the week proved to be the game winner against the University of New Haven. Although the Knights won their final game against Stonehill, they were eliminated from the tournament on the basis of Bentley’s victory as well.
Bradley finishes her career in the Vermont net.
Charlotter and UVM senior Eliza Bradley made her last start for the Catamount women’s soccer team but, thanks to an early red card, did not finish the game. Three minutes into play she collided with a University of Hartford striker and was ejected, forcing the Cats to go the rest of the way one-person down. Hartford went on to win 3-0, ending UVM hopes for a play-off birth. On the up side, Bradley’s record in net makes her the most effective goalie in UVM history. She has been the starter since her freshman year.
Pfaff and Limanek score for Rice.
Former Charlotter and Rice scoring leader Brittany Pfaff continues to carry the Green Knights through the women’s soccer play-offs. In a playdown game against Mount Anthony, she broke the 100-goal mark in her scoring career moving her team into the Division I quarterfinals against Rutland. Her four goals were all that was needed to eliminate the Red Raiders and move Rice into the semi-finals. She was named Female Athelete of the month as a result.
On the men’s side of the Rice ledger, Noah Limanek contributed a goal in Rice’s 4-1 win over Mount Abraham earlier this month.
KC Delorge holds the goal in Trinity Baptist soccer nets.
Charlotte’s KC Delorge proved a staunch goaltender as he and his Trinity Baptist teammates have won their last three games, a 5-0 shutout of Champlain Valley Christian School, followed by a 5-1 defeat of United Christian and another shutout, 6-0 against Vermont Christian.
CVU products continue to kick in goals for Middlebury College.
Carson Cornbrooks and Tyler MacNee have provided Middlebury College men’s soccer team with some valuable scoring punch. They seem to feed off of one another as they did as Redhawks. Carson knocked in Tyler’s feed against Connecticut College, then he provided an assist as Tyler scored in the Panthers’ 3-1 win over Bates.
