Track & Field: Congratulations to the Charlotte children who participated in the VRPA State Track & Field Meet on July 24 in St. Johnsbury. They helped the Champlain Valley Team (Charlotte, Hinesburg and Williston) win the “Small Program” team title. Hadley Menk participated in 80M hurdles- 6th(19.35 seconds), 200M- 14th (37.06 seconds), Long Jump- 11th (9’6”); Cole Otley participated in 100M- 14th (17.03 seconds), Long Jump- 10th (9’6”), 4 x 100 relay- 2nd (1:10.41); Mason Otley participated in 100M- 4th (16.04 seconds), Long Jump- 2nd (10’9”), 4 x 100 relay- 2nd (1:10.41) and Sadie Otley participated in High Jump- 1st (4’4”).
Adult Fun Fall Tennis Tournament (Benefits the Tim Serrell Tennis Fund): Saturday, September 18, times to be determined, at the Charlotte Beach Tennis Courts. Sign up as an individual to play doubles with changing partners. Register by September 15, fee $20. Sign up as an A or B player on the grade section of the Charlotte Recreation Registration Form.
Some refreshments will be provided by the recreation Department. There will be a prize for the winner. Sign up early to save your spot. Forms and information will be available on August 17 on the town website charlottevt.org or call Charlotte recreation at 425-6129.
