Senior Center Happenings
by Mary Recchia, Activities Coordinator

Please look for the Spring Program of activities at the Senior Center as an insert in the next issue of The Charlotte News. Until then, February is a great month to grab a friend, come on over to the center and check out our regular array of weekly activities:
Monday: Yoga, Monday Munch, Bridge
Tuesday: Living Strong, Mah Jong, and Strength Maintenance
Wednesday: Luncheon, Charlotte Knits!
Thursday: Tai Chi, Strength Maintenance, and Chi Kung
Friday: Lighthearted Arts, Living Strong

The February Art Exhibit is a collection from Robin Price Coleburn. Robin has been painting since she was a child, when her paternal grandmother, an artist, allowed Robin to spend hours painting in her studio.
Tax Assistance with Maura Breslin begins Sunday afternoons from 1 to 4 p.m. on February 8 through April. In conjunction with AARP, Maura Breslin has volunteered to assist in the preparation of federal and Vermont tax returns for qualified individuals. To make an appointment, please call 425-2244.
The Gentleman’s Eatery with Mahlon Haines continues on Thursday, February 12, from 7 to 10 a.m. Whether you’re single, want to upgrade your skills or maybe never thought you’d need to learn to cook, here’s a chance to experience the joys and practicalities of cooking while having fun at the same time! Registration required. Suggested donation: $5 to cover the cost of food.
The center is pleased to host the American Red Cross Blood Drive on Thursday, February 12, from 2 to 7 p.m. The comfortable atmosphere and great snacks make giving the “Gift of Life” at this site most pleasurable.
Those who do not wish to share lunch with us are welcome to drop in around 1 p.m. to enjoy the After Lunch Offerings:
2/11: Traditional Indian Dance with Tanisha Govil. After the Indian Luncheon meal prepared by the students in Gopi Advani’s cooking class, our cultural immersion will continue with a performance mix of classical and Bollywood-Style Indian dances by accomplished dancer, Tanisha Govil.
