School Board Approves Interim Principal
Sandra Jump of East Corinth, Vermont, has accepted the position as interim principal at Charlotte Central School. She will begin her new task July 2, taking over temporarily for Monica Smith who retired after 19 years as chief administrator at CCS.
Jump brings recent experience as principal of Waits River Valley School, also a kindergarten-through-eighth-grade institution. Prior to that she held positions in public relations, business management, as a teacher of art and Spanish, and she was principal of an elementary school in Maine.
She said she liked Charlotte for its emphasis on developing both scientific knowledge as well as literacy. She believes staff members are engaged in their school and the students’ development and that the community’s involvement “promoted a love of learning.”
The search committee will begin its selection process for an assistant principal as soon as Jump arrives.
