Plant-A-Row for the Charlotte Food Shelf
Plant-A-Row for the
Charlotte Food Shelf,
May 20, 2010, page 14.....

The children of the Charlotte Congregational Church Sunday School have donated free seeds (from Vermont High Mowing Organic Seed Company and Burpee Seed Company) to give out on May 23 (at the end of the 10 am church service) to help the Charlotte community grow fresh vegetables for the Charlotte Food Shelf this season. The plant-a-row program idea is that you would plant one extra row (or more if you have the room) in your garden and then donate the vegetables at harvest time to the Charlotte Food Shelf. The children hand out information with each seed packet about dates that the vegetables can be brought to the church for the Food Shelf to distribute to its clients. Any seeds left over will be available at the Charlotte Library entry on May 24. Pass the word to neighbors and friends, and together we can grow lots of great fresh food for the Charlotte Food Shelf. Please also note that there are a few more early start seed packets available now just outside the church office. If you have any questions please contact Elizabeth Berger at cccsundayschool@gmavt.net.
