Charlotte Volunteer Fire and Rescue Services responded to a call on Mt. Philo during mid-afternoon on October 28. Several volunteers took equipment, including the sled (a stretcher with a wheel), up the trail to assist an individual with a medical emergency. With great care, they assisted her down the mountain without having to use the sled. (See photo at left.) Call 425-3111 if you would like information about joining the fire department or rescue squad.
