Local Artisans to be Featured at Labor Day Craft Fair
August 25, 2011, page 5.....
The 41st Annual Mad River Valley Craft Fair will feature local artisans on Labor Day Weekend. Debbie Ramsdell, who lives at Champlain Valley Co-housing in Charlotte, will be among them with the wooden clothes-drying racks handmade by her son-in-law, Simbo Camara.
The craft fair runs Saturday and Sunday, September 3 and 4, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., rain or shine. It is the finale event for the month-long Festival of the Arts in Waitsfield. Over 100 juried artisans will offer a wide variety of products including jewelry, hand painted silk clothing, knit wear, furniture, pottery, glass, basketry, photography, sculpture and paintings.
Food, demonstrations, entertainment and kids’ activities will be offered throughout the two days.
The fair will be in Kenyon’s field on Route 100 just north of Waitsfield Village. The $4 admission (children under 12 are free) is good for both days and includes a chance for door prizes donated by local businesses. For more directions or information call 496-3409 or visit madrivercraftfair.com.
