Library News
by Margaret Woodruff

Our “flock” of chickens has been named! Many thanks to all the kids who offered suggestions, including our winner, Rayona Silverman. Thanks to Rayona, our happy flock will now go by Snuggle, Edeo, Jeffrey and Mili.

Gingerbread houses to go! Call and reserve your gingerbread house kit before they are all gone. Pick up dates are December 6 through 13. Return the house in time for our Gingerbread House Party on December 17 at 4 p.m. when you can enter to win a gingerbread animal kit & decorate some gingerbread folks to take home. Registration required, please call the Library to sign up.

Lonely Mittens? We’re building an “art” exhibit of solo mittens to decorate the Children’s Room. Bring in your mateless mittens to add to our display. Mittens can be dropped off during Library Hours beginning December 5.

Charlotte Food Shelf
As every day passes, we hear or read about our neighbors going hungry. In response to the critical need for food products The Charlotte Library is now a drop-off site for The Charlotte Food Shelf. The following donations are most wanted: boxed cereal, canned fruit and vegetables, pasta, mayonnaise and peanut butter. Thank you in advance for your generosity and caring.

Are you looking for a way to cut costs? Use your library!
• How about checking out a CD (audio book) for that long holiday car ride?
• Check out magazines you’d like to read but don’t want piling up in your house.
• Stop by and take out a DVD for the kids or yourself.
• Get on the list for newly released best sellers.
• Add some variety to your nightly bedtime stories by checking out a few picture books.

Cookie Swap - Saturday, December 13, 10:30 a.m.
Register now for a festive morning with your neighbors and friends and leave with an assortment of holiday cookies. If you’ve been to an exchange, you know it’s a good time, and if you haven’t, you’re in for a treat. Call the library for details.

Digital camera needed
We currently have the basic Kodak Easy/Share C310 but would love to upgrade. If you have a digital camera that is in great working condition, please consider donating it to the library. Your donation is tax deductible.
