Programs and Activities for Children
April is National Poetry Month.
April 17 is Put a Poem in Your Pocket Day! Find your favorite poem (or discover a new one!), copy it out and put it in your pocket to share with friends and others throughout the day. Paper pockets and poem sheets will be available at the library starting April 14. The Fold Me a Poem program takes place at the library on April 22 at 10:30 a.m.
Spring is for the birds.
Celebrate spring like the robins do! Build a nest for display at the Charlotte Library. Stop by or call the library for details. Here are a few guidelines to get you started. Build your nest, as a bird would, to shelter and protect eggs. Collect your materials outside, gathering only items birds would get themselves (man-made materials are allowed only as a bird might use them). Please refrain from using any mud or other materials that could damage books (this includes any item that would contain insects or pests). Drop off your nest at the library during open hours from now until April 18. Please bring your nest on a paper plate for display.
Book Club begins April 14.
Book lovers from fourth grade up are invited to the next session of the Library Book Club. Readers meet to chat about favorite books, prepare the book weblink for the library and enjoy the famous library snacks! Join Cheryl Sloan on Monday, April 14, at 3 p.m. CCS students can take the bus from school with a parent’s note. Please call the library to sign up at 425-3864.
