Letters: Town Meeting Thanks from Chris Davis for Fire & Rescue, and Ed Stone to CCS Students
March 24, 2011, page 3.....
Support for Fire and Rescue Appreciated
Thank you to all the voters who supported the Fire and Rescue budget, the Capital Equipment Replacement Fund deposit request and the approval of funds to replace the 1990 heavy rescue truck. The officers and members of Charlotte Volunteer Fire and Rescue Services sincerely appreciate and respect your confidence in our organization to be prudent in using the funds provided to continue to serve this community. Thank you from all of us!
A reminder to all, in case it snows again: please clear the snow away from street and house numbers, and have your driveway snow pushed back to allow emergency vehicles access should they be needed. Also, we need your help to remove the snow from the dry hydrants located around the town (see photo below). These dry hydrants are a critical source of fire protection water. If they are blocked valuable time is lost searching for or digging them out if a fire were to occur.
Please stop by anytime you see vehicles at the building for a tour, or call or e-mail us with questions or comments at 425-3111 or at cvfrs.com.
Thank you!
Chris Davis, Chief,
Charlotte Volunteer Fire Department
