Kjelleren Says, “There are No Limits”
Kjelleren Says, “There are No Limits”
by Edd Merritt,
September 9, 2010, page 9.....

Don Kjelleren senior, father of Charlotte resident Don and a recent retiree from DuPont Corporation, is not used to sitting still. Since retiring 17 years ago he has climbed the highest peaks (fifty in one year), pedaled his bicycle on a 100-mile trip, completed a ten-mile run and taken pictures of the inside and outside of every state capital. He still sets goals for himself and has earned medals in many winter and summer senior games on a national level.
Looking to interest people over the age of fifty in trying out sporting events, he will be meeting with the Senior Games Committee on September 13 at the Charlotte Senior Center. He invites anyone who may be interested to attend.
Meanwhile, the Kjelleren clan participated in the four-mile Green Mountain Bicycle Club (GMBC) time trial on South Greenbush/Thompson’s Point Road August 26. Dons, senior and junior, placed first in their age categories; their grandson/son Hayden finished second in his age category. The following Sunday Hayden joined fellow bikers George and Sam Darling and runners Pete Brown, John and Callie Braun, John Servin and King Milne in the Race to the Top of Mount Mansfield, an event sponsored by the Catamount Trail Association.
