The not-to-be missed sixth annual Fall Festival will be held on Saturday, September 24, at the Hinesburg Town Hall with an open-air market, art show, non-stop musical events and kids’ activities, including a performance by the No Strings Marionette players. The theme is local, from the many musicians who will play toe-tapping tunes, to the freshly harvested produce and the crafts of the many outdoor vendors. There will also be the works of local artists and historical displays in the lower level of the Town Hall.

The Festival will kick off on Friday night, September 23, at 7 p.m. in the Hinesburg Community School with the showing of the award winning film The Summer of Walter Hacks, starring Charlotters Francesca and Jennifer Blanchard and Hinesburg resident and architect, John Kiedaisch, who designed the Charlotte Library. Highlights include scenes shot at the Quinlan Schoolhouse and the railroad overpass on Greenbush Road.

Saturday events start at 10 a.m. with a violin duo by Pam Reit and Ira Morris in the main hall/ art gallery at Town Hall and open market outside. Musical performances, farmers market and children’s activities continue all day until 4 p.m. A town Harvest Dinner will be served at the Osborne Parish Hall starting at 6 p.m., with a musical performance by Susan Reit de Salas on harp and Mary Ann Samuels on hammer dulcimer. Proceeds from the dinner will benefit the Hinesburg Land Trust. All events will take place rain or shine. For more information call Sally Reiss at 482-3295 or e-mail smreiss@madriver.com.
