Hardy Volunteers Plant 250 Shrubs Saturday - Finished the Job Monday
April 25, 2011....
Message from Jessie Bradley:
Hello from The CPWR Oversight Committee
Despite the weather we had a great turn out of volunteers to help plant the Riparian Buffer.
Park lovers planted in the wind, rain & sometimes sleet Saturday morning. I know it sounds crazy but we actually had fun! Ode to spring in Vermont.
The group managed to plant over two hundred and fifty plants - three varieties of Dogwood and Viburnum, Winterberry, Clethra, and Pussy Willows.
We still have plenty to do, so if you were unable to make Saturday's endurance adventure but would like to help finish up, please contact me (425-3636), Jen Cole or Sue Smith. We would be happy to either meet you up there or give you instructions.
Some of us will be heading up to the park at 9:30am Monday morning (4/25), so grab your shovel and join us if you have time.
It is really exciting to get a project like this started, so please take a walk or look west as you drive by the Thorp Barn on route 7 and admire the new plants in our lovely park.
A BIG thank you to everyone who came on Saturday!
