Grow a Row for the Food Shelf!
Grow a Row for the Food Shelf!

If you have a little extra space in your veggie garden this spring, please consider planting an “Extra Row” for the Food Shelf. This program was a great success last year and enabled the Food Shelf to distribute a wide selection of fresh produce to local families. Thanks in advance for sharing your harvest!
Thanks to all of the Feinstein Challenge participants for raising $7,000 and collecting 1,112 food items, this was the most successful Feinstein Challenge in 13 years! Also thanks to Caroline and William Symmes, to the Shelburne Supermarket & coffee bar supporters, to the United States Postal Carriers for their National Food Drive and those of you that donated food items to this annual food drive. Thanks to the third grade religious class at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel and Lisa Beal for donating beautiful handmade cards that will be used as thank you notes to send to donors. Many thanks to Rice High School student, Ryan Machavern, for making monthly shopping trips for the Food Shelf during the 2008 -2009 school year.
The Food Shelf will be open from 7:30 to 9 a.m. on the following Thursdays: May 28, June 11 and 25. For more info call Karen (425-3252), Cindi (425-3234), or Lynn (425-3101).
