Grievance Hearings Set for June 27

Owners with new or previously set values who disagree with the appraisals of their property for tax purposes may request an appointment with the Charlotte Board of Listers to grieve. Here is the official notice posted on June 13, 2011:

NOTICE OF GRIEVANCE HEARINGS
Notice to property owners in the Town of Charlotte, VT: Please be advised that the abstract of the Grand List for the tax year 2011-2012 has been lodged with the Town Clerk. Property owners aggrieved by the action of the Listers must file their objections in writing and they or their agent may appear at the grievance hearings to be held at the time and place stated below. Grievances will be heard by appointment only and will last 15 minutes. Appellants should be prepared to present evidence and documentation for their grievances. Appointments will be set by the Listers until 4 p.m. Friday, June 24. E-mails for appointments will not be accepted.
Date: Monday, June 27, 2011
Time: 8:30 a.m. to 12 Noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Place: Charlotte Town Hall
