Ramona Senese, a fashion designer who lived in Charlotte from 1984-1995, has created a resort wear collection called “Float Life” that debuted during a one-hour broadcast on the home shopping network QVC in June.
The “laid-back luxe” collection of tunics, cover-ups, swimwear and accessories features bright colors and one-of-a-kind fabric prints hand-drawn by Senese, rather than computer generated. The clothing is all made in the U.S.A., and became available on QVC.com starting June 15.
Senese, who graduated from CVU in 1995, went on to Northeastern University in Boston, where she received degrees in both business and art. After a short career in advertising, she decided to follow her lifelong dream of fashion design. She moved to New York City and studied women’s and children’s fashion design at the Parson’s School of Design. She designed children’s clothing for a time, and in 2007 launched Float Designs for women and relocated to Sanibel Island, Florida. She currently lives in Miami with her husband.
