Thank You Charlotte!
During the Feinstein Challenge to Help End Hunger, the Charlotte Food Shelf received $7,002 in financial donations and $1,112 in donated food items (at $1 per item), a portion of the total will be matched by the Feinstein Foundation. According to Karen Doris, Food Shelf Volunteeer Director, “This is the largest Feinstein Challenge dollar total raised in 13 years.”
Continuing with our thank you list, many thanks go to the following individuals and organizations for contributing to this important fundraiser: The Charlotte Congregational Church, Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Charlotte Central School staff, parents and students, Tom and Betsy Oliver, Mary Jane Spooner, Deb Stone and family, Charlotte Grange #398, The Charlotte News, anonymous donors, to Dianne Leary and James Laberge who made a donation in memory of Cowboy Lewis, and for the donation made to honor Amanda Gellis on her Bat Mitzvah.
If you need emergency food please come to the Charlotte Food Shelf. It is located on the lower level of the Charlotte Congregational Church vestry,(drive around back). For more information call Karen (425-3252), Lynn (425-3101) or Cindi (425-3234). The Food Shelf will be open from 7:30 to 9 a.m. on the following Thursdays: May 14 and 28, June 11 and 25.
