The One Million Dollar Challenge to Help Fight Hunger runs from March 1 to April 30. For the 12th straight year, the Feinstein Foundation will match a portion of all donations made to the Charlotte Food Shelf. If you have been thinking about making a donation, you are invited to do so during March and April so our local food shelf can take full advantage of this challenge grant!

Financial donations can be mailed to:
Charlotte Food Shelf
3319 Mt. Philo Road
Charlotte, VT 05445
Attention: FS Director Karen Doris
Or to:
Charlotte Congregational Church
P.O. Box 12
Charlotte, VT 05445
Attention: Food Shelf.

Food Drive Boxes will be located at the Charlotte Central School, the Congregational Church and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. Each food item donated will be valued at $1 during the Feinstein Challenge.
As always, there are many folks to thank for contributing to our community Food Shelf. Thanks to James and Kathleen Manchester, Frederick and Barbara Anderson, Ruth Uphold, Diane and Emile Cote, John and Jane Lawlis, Harris Family, Seraus Family, Shelburne Supermarket and to one anonymous donor. Thanks to those who contributed food: EatingWell Media Group employees, Charlotte Organic Coop Members, Kristin Destigter and family, Amanda Gellis at Steeple Ridge Farm, Temple Sinai, and the Renaissance School. Thanks also to everyone who dropped off food items at the Charlotte Library.
The shelf is well stocked with all types of beans, but we are low on canned fruit, 100% juice, spaghetti sauce, egg cartons and Kleenex tissues. We are totally out of pet food, regular coffee and crackers.
If you need emergency food, please come to the Charlotte Food Shelf. It is located in the back on the lower level of the Charlotte Congregational Church vestry. For more information call Karen at 425-3252 or Lynn at 425-3101. The Food Shelf will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. on the following Thursdays: April 9 and April 30.
