The One Million Dollar Challenge to Help Fight Hunger runs from March 1 to April 30. For the 12th straight year, the Feinstein Foundation will match a portion of all donations made to the Charlotte Food Shelf. If you have been thinking about making a donation, you are invited to do so during March and April so our local Food Shelf can take full advantageof this challenge grant! Financial donations can be mailed to the Charlotte Food Shelf, 3319 Mt. Philo Road, Charlotte, VT 05445, Attention: FS Director Karen Doris, or to the Charlotte Congregational Church, PO Box 12, Charlotte, VT 05445, Attention: Food Shelf.
Food Drive Boxes will be located at the Charlotte Central School, the Congregational Church and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. Each food item donated will be valued at $1 during the Feinstein Challenge. We are looking for a volunteer to manage the food drive at CCS.  
Currently on the wish list are: Canned fruit, tomato soup, crackers and dog and cat food.
If you need emergency food please come to the Charlotte Food Shelf. It is located in the back on the lower level of the Charlotte Congregational Church vestry. For more information call Karen at 425-3252 or Lynn at 425-3101. The Food Shelf will be open from 7:30. 1to 9 a.m. on the following Thursdays: March 12, March 26, April 9 and April 30.
