Food Shelf News
by Kerrie Pughe,
June 3, 2010, page 9.....

Thank you to Girl Scout leader, Tracy Beaudin, who dropped off several bags of Girl Scout cookies! Thanks Troop # 30923!
Thanks again to the mail carriers for their efforts on Stamp Out Hunger day. Volunteers Nancy Block, John Lavigne, Lisa Poirier and Lisa Beal organized and shelved all the food donations. This added a nice variety of items to the shelves.
Thanks to the Shelburne Supermarket coffee bar, coffee drinkers, employees, and Steven and Sarah Harold Nickelsberg for the donation.
Also, we received a gift from Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in honor of Karen Jorden and Susan Zahn for their many years of leadership and guidance of the Children’s Religious Education Program.
Wish List for June: crackers, children’s snacks, sun screen (summer is around the corner), hair shampoo, healthy kids’ cereals (e.g. Cheerios).
Perishable Donations: If you would like to donate fresh garden veggies, perishable foods, or foods that require refrigeration, it is best to drop these at the Food Shelf by 7:15 a.m. the mornings of distribution. If this time is not convenient for you, you may call Lisa at 425-2952 to arrange a mutually convenient drop-off time.
The Charlotte Food Shelf is open from 7:30-9 a.m. on the following Thursdays for food distribution:
June 10 and 24, July 8 and 22, August 12
and 26.
All non-perishable food donations may be dropped off at the Charlotte Congregational Church vestry, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church (main entrance) or at the Food Shelf during the distribution mornings.
The Charlotte Food Shelf is located on the lower level of the Charlotte Congregational Church vestry.
For emergency food call: Lisa 425-2952
