Feinstein Challenge
Final Tally

The final cash total for the Feinstein Challenge was $7,209.63; 425 food items at $1 each make a grand total of $7,634.63.

Thank you to the following for their donations: Charlotte Congregational Church members who donated $885 to bring the total money raised over last years cash amount; Bob and Aileen Chutter; Katherine Lampton; Charlotte Grange #398 (raised $100 during its very popular rummage sale); Emile and Diane Cote; Susan and Hans Ohanian; Town Hall Fitness Group members Charles Russell, Deb Stone, Heather Manning, Gloria Warden, Sharron Balaban and Ed Stone for their donation of $1 for each pound they lost during March and April; The Charlotte News for its continuous support over the years by getting the message out to our community members; the Charlotte Coop for healthy organic monthly donations.
Thank you to everyone who donated during the Feinstein Challenge. You can be sure that all of us who volunteer at the Charlotte Food Shelf & Assistance will continue our mission to bring healthy nutritious food to those in need: Lynn Alpeter, Marilyn Holmberg, Sharon Richards, Nancy Bloch, Lisa Beal, Cindi Robinson, Lisa Poirier, Betty Ryan, Laura Iglehart, Karen Doris, Tammy Hall, Diane Downer, Kerrie Pughe, Yoland Larson, John Lavigne, Robert Larson and Barb Zimmerman.

U.S. Postal Service Food Drive Update: On Saturday, May 8, the local U.S. Postal Service mail carriers picked up 373 pounds of food to be donated to the Food Shelf. Thank you to all who donated and thank you to the mail carriers for this fabulous service. Thank you to Barb Zimmerman and Cindi Robinson for picking up the food at the post office and delivering it to the Food Shelf.

Wish List for May: crackers, children’s snacks, sun screen (summer is around the corner), hair shampoo, healthy kids’ cereals such as Cheerios.

Meal in A Bag for May 27: spaghetti goulash. 

All non-perishable food donations may be dropped off at the Charlotte Congregational Church vestry, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church (main entrance) or at the Food Shelf during the distribution mornings. If you would like to donate fresh garden veggies, perishable foods or foods that require refrigeration, it is best to drop these at the Food Shelf by 7:15 a.m. on the mornings of distribution. If this time is not convenient for you, you may call Lisa at 425-2952 to arrange a mutually convenient drop-off time.

The Charlotte Food Shelf is located on the lower level of the Charlotte Congregational Church vestry. It is open from 7:30-9 a.m. for food distribution on the following Thursdays: May 27, June 10 and 24, July 8 and 22, August 12 and 26
