Looking for Ways to Spread Holiday Cheer?
Here are some ideas:

Place a toy or gift in a Holiday Toy Box before Friday, December 19.
The boxes are located at the Library, Town Hall and Charlotte Central
School. Items placed in the toy boxes will be distributed by the Charlotte
Food Shelf. A large volume of donations will allow us to share our gift
collection with the Lund Family Center and the Hinesburg Food Shelf. The
biggest need this year is for teen gifts.

Warm socks and gloves in children and adult sizes would be
appreciated. Purchased or handmade, these items make wonderful practical
gifts. They can be placed into the Holiday Toy Boxes.

If you would like to give a gift certificate, please mail it to: The
Charlotte Food Shelf, c/o Karen Doris, FS Director, 3319 Mt. Philo Road,
Charlotte, VT 05445. Certificates may be from places like the Flying Pig
Book Store, any of the malls, Old Navy, electronic game shops, gas stations,
movie theaters or hair salons.

Help set up the Food and Gift Baskets on Friday, December 19, from
8:15 to 11a.m. No experience is required. To sign up please call Lynn
Alpeter at 425-3101 or send an e-mail to charlottefoodshelf@gmail.com.

Tax-deductible financial donations can be mailed to: The Charlotte Food
Shelf and Assistance, c/o Karen Doris, 3319 Mt Philo Rd, Charlotte, VT
05445.

Thanks again to everyone who helped during the Thanksgiving Food
Basket set-up day. Thanks to Mary Volk and her fellow knitters for offering
to make hats for the Christmas Baskets. Thanks to Tom and Naomi Randell
for their financial donation and to Jo Messingschlager and Megan Zianer for
donating fresh eggs. Thanks to Phyllis Kroll for her second annual gift
of pet food for the winter months. Thanks to Boy Scout Troop 615 and
leader Eileen Curtis for the handmade Christmas wreaths.

Are you are feeling a financial crunch and in need of emergency food? If so,
please come to the Charlotte Food Shelf located on the lower level of the
Charlotte Congregational Church vestry on Church Hill Road. Enter through the
back door. You’ll be greeted by friendly, caring people. For more information call
Karen (425-3252), Lynn (425-3101) or Sue (425-3526). Support is confidential.
