Decommission Vermont Yankee
Decommission Vermont Yankee
Letter from Martha Waterman

Vermonters deserve safe, clean energy--nuclear power is neither safe nor clean. Our legislature must vote now to shut down Vermont Yankee!

The recent discovery of tritium in the area of the Connecticut River surrounding the plant reminds us of the dangers of nuclear power. Not only does Vermont Yankee threaten the health of the river's ecosystem, it threatens the health of current and future Vermonters.

Today I joined 100 people from Vermont and beyond in a march to the State House in an effort to bring our mLettessage to our legislators. We asked them to represent our best interest and decommission Vermont Yankee. We cannot afford another twenty years of risk and radiation. Our legislators must ensure a safe, clean energy future for Vermont.

Sincerely,
Martha Waterman
