A tentative, multi-year agreement between teachers and school boards in the Chittenden South Supervisory Union (CSSU) district was reached last night.
According to CCS Board Chair Lynne Jaunich, “The school boards’ and teachers’ association’s negotiating teams reached a tentative agreement last night, which needs to be ratified by both sides before it can be made public, which will likely be in early March."
Atty. Scott Cameron, the board team's chief negotiator, confirmed this morning that "The (CSSU) Boards and the (Chittenden South Education) Association reached an agreement on a multi-year deal." The draft of the agreement is being prepared now, and Cameron said, "Both parties will be meeting with their respective constituencies to review it and to vote on ratification, and we hope that will be done in the next week to 10 days."
Cameron added, "The boards' team felt the agreement was a fair and reasonable outcome, one that would lead to stability and hopefully continued good labor relations over the next several years."
