CONSERVATION COMMISSION IS SEEKING NEW MEMBERS
The Charlotte Conservation Commission currently has two vacancies. One term runs to March 2009 and one to March 2010. It is an ideal time for new people to become involved.
We are a diverse and lively advisory board that works extensively with other town boards and members of the community. Our mission is to support the Charlotte Town Plan by promoting land and other resource use decisions that protect and enhance Charlotte’s natural and cultural resources through:
Promotion of public understanding and appreciation of nature;
Creation of education and planning tools for resource management;
Participation in town planning and policy development processes; and
Engagement in the civic life of the town.
Monthly business meetings are the fourth Tuesday, 6:45 to 8:45 p.m. In addition, members work on a variety of projects, singly or in small teams. For more information, contact any of the current members, or send a letter of interest to Selectboard Assistant Dean Bloch at Town Hall (or to dean@townofcharlotte.com). We are especially looking for new members who would like to be involved with educational and outreach programs.
