The Senior Center is pleased to host the American Red Cross Blood Drive on Thursday, April 16, from 2 to 7 p.m. The comfortable atmosphere and great snacks make giving the “Gift of Life” at this site most pleasurable.
New sessions of old favorites begin as follows: Gentle Yoga on April 20, Chair Yoga on April 27, Chi Kung on April 30, Living Strong on May 5 and Tai Chi on May 14. Fun With Watercolor! with Lynn Cummings, M.Ed. runs Tuesday mornings in May from 9 to 11:30 a.m. The class will meet on May 5, 12, 19 and 26. Whether a beginner or intermediate painter, each student will have fun exploring materials and various watercolor techniques as we paint spring subjects. In a supportive and creative environment, students will observe demonstrations, then have plenty of time to ask questions and paint. Be prepared to have fun while you learn! A materials list will be provided upon registration. Registration required. Fee: $80
Our annual spring Garden Clean-up will be on May 5 from 4 until we’re done. All regular garden fairies as well as any new ones are welcome to join in the fun. Then...Save the date! Our Annual Plant Sale will be held on Saturday, May 16, where you will find buds, blossoms and bargains. If you have seedlings or plants to donate or would like help digging donations, please call Lorna Bates at 425-3819.
Get Motivated Through Self-Hypnosis with Samuel Lurie, M.Ed and certified hypnotherapist on Friday mornings from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on May 8 and May 15. Learn what hypnosis is and how to customize it to meet YOUR goals. This workshop will explain ways in which we can increase relaxation and use the power of our subconscious minds to help us feel more vibrant and content. Hypnosis can be used to get better sleep, manage pain, build confidence, change eating habits and more. CD recording for home use included. Registration required. Fee: $15/session; $25 for both.
Our glorious Senior Luncheons are held every Wednesday at noon. Reservations are necessary in advance and can be made by calling the Senior Center at 425-6345. A $4 donation is requested to help cover costs. Those who do not wish to share lunch with us are welcome to drop in around 1 p.m. to enjoy the After Lunch Offerings:
