Town political party committees announce caucuses: Democrats on September 27 and Republicans on September 29
Charlotte Democrats Invited to September 27 Caucus
by Darrilyn Peters, Chair of Charlotte Democratic Committee
All Charlotte voters who support the Democratic Party are invited to attend the biennial reorganization caucus of the Charlotte Democratic Committee. This meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 27, at 7 p.m. at the Charlotte Town Hall.
The primary purpose of this meeting is to elect a Town Committee, to elect Officers of the Town Committee, and to elect delegates to the Chittenden County Democratic Committee. The number of members a Town Committee may have is unlimited. Generally, anyone who attends the meeting is elected to the Committee if he or she wishes to be on it. Officers to be elected are a Town Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, and Assistant Treasurer. Charlotte is entitled to four delegates to the Chittenden County Democratic Committee. Refreshments will be served.
I am an ardent believer in political participation at the grassroots level. While I am unable to continue as chair, I would strongly encourage others to serve as an officer and will help the committee however I can in the future. As we all know, this is a very important election year, especially on the national level. We all need to be well informed and active, and have some fun while we’re at it.
