March 10, 2011, page 1.....
The CCS budget of $6,740,590 passed easily with 541 in favor to 281 opposed. The budget is a 3.74% decrease from the final budget passed in May last year, on the third try. The education tax rates for CCS will not increase.
CCS Board Chair Lynne Jaunich was happy to hear the results and said, “Thank you to the town for supporting the school and passing the budget.” She added, “We heard a clear directive from the community about what they could afford, and I hope the vote means we did it right.”
The CVU High School budget also passed easily, with a district-wide vote of 2,774 yes to 1,359 no. Results are not available by town, as the ballots are commingled at one location before being counted. The CVU budget is a 1.14% decrease from current year and will result in a small increase in the education tax rates.
