A Time to Give 5K/10K Run and Fundraiser November 12
November 3, 2011, page 7.....

The Connor B Turnbaugh Foundation will be holding its annual A Time to Give 5K/10K run and fundraiser on November 12. This year marks the 6th anniversary of the event, which will again be held at the Shelburne Town Hall.
Mary and Jeff Turnbaugh of Charlotte created the Foundation in 2006 in an effort to provide financial support to Vermont families that have a child inflicted with pediatric cancer.
Upon diagnosis, the Foundation offers each family $250 to cover some of their immediate costs including food, parking and gas. Families may then submit an application for additional funds to meet their individual needs. The foundation has helped families pay their mortgage, rent, utilities, buy groceries, obtain childcare for siblings and fix cars so they can travel to Burlington or Boston for treatment. The financial needs are huge as parents often need to scale back work to be with their child, while bills simultaneously pile up.
This year the Foundation has helped the largest number of families since its formation in 2006. It has helped approximately 60 families since the first fundraiser in 2006. A Time to Give typically raises about $12,000-$15,000. Last year there were 160 adult runners, and about 200 people at the event.
The event will begin with a 5K and 10K run/walk at 9 a.m. Registration begins at 8 a.m., or you may register in advance via the website. A kids’ 1K fun run will take place at 10:30 a.m.  Along with the two runs, there will be a raffle with many great items and music, food, face painting and a craft table for the kids where they can design their own Connor B Turnbaugh Foundation T-shirts. Registration fees are $20 for adults and $5 for children.
For more information e-mail the foundation at cbtfoundation@gmail.com, visit the website, cbtfoundation.com or call at 425-4747. Donations can be sent directly to The Connor B Turnbaugh Foundation: A Time to Give 2011, 186 Eastry Court, Charlotte, VT 05445.
