With Memorial Day just around the corner, this issue of The Charlotte New is dedicated to the men, women and children of Charlotte who give back so much to the community. The Town Monument in the West Village is a symbol of service to country, and the beautiful flowers that surround it embody the quiet volunteerism of one local resident. Throughout the paper are tributes to other citizens for good works here and in the greater community, and recognition of the creativity, compassion and civic duty of folks who care about their neighbors, town and schools.
