Paul blows his horn with the CVU Redhawks Jazz Ensemble and was a member of the Vermont All-State Jazz Ensembles in 2009 and 2010.
to Marty Illick and the Lewis Creek Association (LCA) for its work in areas of stream corridor conservation. The association recently received awards of three Local Implementation Grants totaling $33,320 from the Lake Champlain Basin Program. LCA received an “Aquatic Invasive Species Grant” for its pilot program in European Frogbit Spread prevention. It also received an “Organizational Support Grant” and a “Pollution Prevention Grant,” the latter for its McAbe’s Brook Stream Geomorphic Assessment and Corridor Planning. Illick says that the money enables LCA to “continue on with work in these areas of stream corridor conservation, lake bay restoration,” and it increases “our community’s efforts to help manage and improve the water quality of our streams and Lake Champlain.”

to David Blittersdorf, CEO of AllEarth Renewables in Hinesburg, for his sponsorship of Tom Weis’ 10-week “ride for renewables,” which he completed December 7 at the Jefferson Memorial in Washington, D.C. Weis rode his futuristic-looking “rocket trike” through 11 states in order to promote 100% renewable electricity for the U.S. within ten years. Blittersdorf called for greater leadership by renewable energy industries in order to see it happen. “Embrace the bold vision,” he said.
