to Lindsay and Lars Cartwright, whose son Will Patton was born June 3 at Fletcher Allen Health Care, Burlington.
to Sara Weber and Gregory Campbell, who were united in marriage May 15 at All Souls Interfaith Gathering in Shelburne. Gregory spent summers at Cedar Beach in Charlotte. He is the son of Jill Smith of Duxbury and the late Stuart Campbell of Stowe. The couple lives in Williston.
to Andrea Blood, a student at Hamilton College, Clinton, New York, who earned placement on the Dean’s List for the spring term 2010. She is the daughter of Neal and Laura Blood of Charlotte.
to Arlin Ladue, who completed his junior year at Tufts University, Medford, Massachusetts, for earning placement on the Dean’s List for the spring 2010 semester.
to Becca von Trapp, a former resident of Charlotte, who graduated from Colorado College, Colorado Springs, Colorado, with a Baccalaureate of Arts degree in English with a concentration in poetry.
to Liam Murphy, a partner in Murphy Sullivan Kronk attorneys-at- law, who was named in the top tier of individual lawyers practicing zoning and land use law by Chambers USA. The firm was also named to the top tier of Vermont law practices for 2010.
to R. Prescott Jaunich, a Burlington lawyer who was named as a leader in the Vermont real estate legal arena.
to Walter E. Judge, a Burlington attorney who was recognized by Chambers USA for his litigation success.
to Polly and Brad Simpkins, who, along with their Charlotte Berry Farm, were featured in the September 25 issue of the Burlington Free Press. The Berry Farm has opened and will remain so until the raspberries run out sometime in September.
to members of the Skilton-Merritt family who are collectively celebrating 150 years of married life among four generations on Martha’s Vineyard this week. Led by Lenore and Avery Skilton of Derry, New Hampshire, who have been married 65 years; Beth and Edd Merritt of Charlotte, 40 years; Steve Jacques and Gail Skilton-Jacques of Derry, 32 years; Chris Merritt and Nicole Abrunzo-Merritt of Providence, 10 years, and Ian Merritt and Catherine Whelan-Wuest Merritt of Chicago, 3 years, the clan strapped on its bibs and gobbled lobster.
to Andrew Thayer, who earned placement on the Dean’s List for both Fall 2009 and Spring 2010. He is a rising junior at Guilford College in Greensboro, North Carolina, majoring in business management with a double minor in money and finance and human resource management. Andrew is also a member of Guilford’s golf team. He is the son of Chris and Leslie Thayer of Charlotte.
to Angela Demers, who was named to the Spring 2010 Champlain College President’s List for academic achievements and earning a 4.0 grade average. Demers is majoring in Business BS (Management AS).
to Ari DiMaio, who graduated from Austine School for the Deaf in Brattleboro on June 17. Ari, who is the son of Debbie Lamden and Enzo DiMaio, attended Austine School for eight years.
to Caitlin LaBarge, daughter of Robin Simpson Troy and Gordon Troy, who graduated April 9 from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, New York, NY, and for her recent debut appearing in The Little Mermaid with the Galli Theater in New York. Caitlin has accepted an internship position with the Origin Theatre Company, also in NYC, to continue her theatrical pursuits. Break a leg, Caitlin!
to Sam Zimmerman, who received a Drama Award during the Charlotte Central School Middle Level Award ceremony on June 14. Sam’s name was missing from the list of recipients printed in the June 17 issue of The Charlotte News. Sam graduated from CCS on June 15.
to Kelli McMullen-Temple, who won the two-star international competition at the Bromont Three-Day Event equestrian competition in Bromont, Quebec. Kelli, a 1996 Olympic Team Member, was riding her eight-year-old German Warmblood gelding, Axel Rose. Kellie grew up in Charlotte, and was a member of the Charlotte Pony Club. She now lives in Round Hill, Virginia.

is extended to the family and friends of Stuart D. Ireland, 79, of Burlington and formerly of Charlotte, who passed away Friday, June 18. He was the founder of S.D. Ireland and Sons Construction Company, Ireland Industries and Ireland Concrete Construction Corp. Stu truly enjoyed participating in the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade. He is survived by his wife Peggy, and family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the S.D. Ireland Cancer Research Fund, 42 Severance Green #107, Colchester, Vt. 05446.
