A New Career for Kevin McGarghan
June 3, 2010, page 7.....
Kevin McGarghan has had several careers. He was a police officer in Burlington for nine years. During that time he met his wife, Sarah, who was then a canine officer. When they decided to have a family, he left the police and went into the insurance business. As their four children grew older he decided it was time for something new and went back to school.
After six years of study, both by computer and in the classroom, he graduated in May with a B.S. degree in Nursing from the University of Vermont. He received a scholarship from UVM for one term of classes in his senior year when he had retired from his job to go full time. He graduated with a 3.4 average.
After his years in insurance, Kevin is hoping to work in the emergency room of the hospital, because, as he said, “I love chaos!”
Congratulations, Kevin! And also to the many other Charlotters who have graduated from colleges this year. See the Around Town section on page 23.
